She understands people and has qualifications in psychology, speech pathology, adult education and the Feldenkrais method. She has been a successful business woman for over 20 years managing staff and clients, was the CEO of a not-for-profit organisation for a year, and has worked in the health-care, media and academic sectors. She is an accredited user of the Genos Emotional Intelligence assessment measures, and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). She has also been a voluntary crisis counsellor for five years.
