EI: Courses - Positive Resilience - Cultivating positive emotions at work
Positive Resilience - Cultivating positive emotions at work
Overview
Emotions are contagious. You know what it's like if you come to work one morning and there is a black cloud hanging over someone. You probably tip-toe around him/her. And, if it's the boss, you know not to ask a favour that day too.
Pleasant emotions can have the exact same effect in the opposite direction. Imagine coming to work and finding the team you manage all enthusiastic about their projects, all supporting each other, and all determined to get the job done on time. Wow! You'd relax and get on with your work as well, wouldn't you? Enthusiasm is contagious too.
There is mounting evidence that pleasant emotions in the workplace have a myriad of positive benefits. And, it's not just about making people feel good, it's about the financial impact.
Emotionally engaged staff who are working well together are more productive and that affects your bottom line. They are more likely to enjoy their jobs and that means less money being wasted on absenteeism. And when people feel positive about their work they are more likely to stay in the job, meaning fewer staff recruitment problems and higher levels of staff retention. Who could want more?
Are you doing enough to cultivate pleasant and positive emotions at work?
Or are you like most organisations, so busy trying to get the job done you only pay attention to the problems and risk losing staff as a consequence.
How much is that costing you? Lots.
There is now ample evidence for the efficacy of a range of emotional development techniques that have been repeatedly and scientifically proven to cultivate positive emotions. This seminar will cover at least five of them, plus the research to show you the results that can be gained from each one.
When teams of people do this course together you give them the best chance of capitalising on the benefits and applying the techniques on a daily basis in your workplace. Just think: enthusiasm is contagious and so is productivity.
This seminar covers key aspects of dimension five: "Emotional self-management" and dimension six: "Emotional management of others" on the Genos emotional intelligence model.

I found your "Happy Not Hassled" meditation CDs at the library and liked them so much I bought my own copy. I really like the way you teach meditation. I find your voice to be very gentle, calming and reassuring which makes the CDs very easy to listen to. And I like how you give examples of how meditation has personally helped you.
Pauline Meagher. Perth WA. December 2010.
"I loved your humour, anecdotes and centredness during your talks. You are a hoot! As I watched you work, I marvelled at how you seem to have easy access to or tapped into "something" from which you draw strength and confidence. With gratitude.
