They also may have been told by their staff, colleagues or HR manager that they need to work on their emotional intelligence or people skills.
Is this you?

She won't talk emotional intelligence airy-fairy, warm and fuzzy, mumbo jumbo but coach you in the practical emotional intelligence skills you need to better manage yourself and others. Polish your emotional intelligence skills now so you can be your best with the people that matter most to you.
Be a leader that people want to follow.

Possible content for your emotional intelligence coaching
You can choose what you need from the following:
Every individual session of emotional intelligence coaching will be personally taylored to your needs, situation and skills. It will not follow a pre-determined content or structure, as each person is different.
 | Assessing your emotional intelligence with a Genos Australian 360 assessment. This is an excellent start as it provides a baseline measure for all future emotional intelligence development work.
| | Discovering how your emotional intelligence skills compare to those of other Australian leaders or workplace employees.
| | Developing greater emotional intelligence for enhanced long-term client, staff and stakeholder relationships.
| | Preparing emotionally for difficult situations.
| | Developing the skills of emotional profiling. This will help you to better understand people's perspectives and behaviours and to select the best communication strategies with them.
| | Increasing your emotional vocabulary so you can express yourself clearly.
| | Developing greater skill in the recognition, expression and management of both positive and negative emotions in yourself and others.
| | Learning how to generate options for managing your emotions so that your emotions do not dictate your behaviour.
| | Finding practical ways to shift your emotional state so you're in the best emotion for each task.
| | Learning to handle your emotions such as discomfort, anxiety or awkwardness when giving performance reviews and feedback so you don't avoid the difficult situations.
| | Reducing your frustration, anger and stress levels.
| | Reading other people and understanding the emotions that drive their behaviour.
| | Responding to the emotions of others so you build relationships.
| | Communicating in a way that acknowledges and understands others' emotions so they feel heard and your are listened to.
| | Reading other people.
| | Learning how to stay calm and avoid becoming defensive, withdrawn, irritated, frustrated or angry.
| | Learning how to become more comfortable with uncomfortable emotions so you don't avoid situations you need to tackle.
| | Learning how to make emotionally intelligent decisions by integrating emotional data with cognitive data, for better people management and self-management.
| | Understanding more about your impact on others.
| | Being able to deal with the emotional fall-out from people when giving difficult feedback or expressing your opinions or decisions.
| | Advancing your emotional intelligence and enhancing your success.
| | Sessions on managing other emotions that are holding back your success, such as anxiety and nervousness, may also be available, (on the understanding that in certain circumstances these emotions may require medical or psychological development, rather than the involvement of an EI coach.)
|
Please note, Rachel is not a psychologist so this is not a service for people with mental health problems.

Features of Emotional Intelligence assessment and coaching:
A. With an emotional intelligence assessment:
 | The key format is for you to have your Emotional Intelligence assessed on the GENOS 360 instrument prior to the session with Rachel.
| | You will need to provide a list of people who have agreed to rate you on the EI assessment. It is all done on-line and only takes between 15-20 minutes each.
| | The instrument assesses you on: 1. Emotional self-awareness, 2. Emotional expression, 3. Emotional awareness of others, 4. Emotional reasoning, 5. Emotional self-management, 6. Emotional management of others, and 7. Emotional self-control.
| | Following the completion of your emotional intelligence assessment, you will have a 2 hour coaching session for the results and analysis. As part of this, Rachel will help you identify suitable emotional intelligence strategies to improve your skills.
| | A second or further emotional intelligence session(s) can be arranged, if required, to focus on further strategies for developing your emotional intelligence.
|
B. Without an emotional intelligence assessment:
 | You may also have sessions on any of the seven levels of emotional intelligence without an assessment. 1. Emotional Self-Awareness 2. Emotional Expression. 3. Emotional Awareness of Others. 4. Emotional Reasoning. 5. Emotional Self-management. 6. Emotional Management of Others 7. Emotional Self-control.
| | Your own case examples can form the basis of the EI coaching so it is completely tailored to your individual circumstances at work.

Benefits of emotional intelligence coaching:
The benefits to be gained from emotional intelligence coaching are numerous and may involve:
 | Greater emotional self-awareness so you can spot changes in your feelings, as they happen, and thus diminish the instances in which you develop high degrees of frustration, anger or resentment. This will give you a feeling of greater emotional control so you can respond how you want, when you want.
| | Increased ability to manage your own emotional state so that your emotions are less likely to have a negative impact on your working or personal relationships and are more likely to support you in achieving your relationship and work goals.
| | Greater awareness of the feelings of others so you don't miss important emotional cues at meetings, in negotiations or in interactions with people who are important to you. This will help you feel more "in the know" and more able to deal with the nuances inherent in all interactions.
| | Improve your ability to communicate clearly without your communication being hijacked by your emotions. With an increased ability to identify your feelings and using a more sophisticated emotional vocabulary, you will have more opportunities to help people understand you.
| | Increased understanding of the emotional drivers of people's behaviours.
| | Increased ability to know how you feel and why. When this is coupled with an increased knowledge of the ways to manage your emotions, you will have greater resources to understand yourself and have high levels of self-management. These are the ultimate skills required for exceptional leadership.
| | Decrease in difficult emotions such as anxiety and self-doubt.
| | Improvement in your bottom line through increased engagement of your people.
| | Enhanced decision making skills that allow for a greater buy-in of the relevant people.
| | Being a leader that people want to follow.

What others have said about this emotional intelligence coaching:
"I chose you as a coach in leadership and emotional intelligence based on your excellent reputation and diverse experience. All the sessions exceeded my very high expectations and I learned much more about myself and about others than I ever imagined possible in a relatively short space of time. Thank you.
The best thing about working with you is that I have gone away from your sessions with heaps of strategies that I can use immediately to transform the quality of my interactions with colleagues, clients, family or even complete strangers!
The second best thing about working with you is that I had a very engaging, challenging and enjoyable time learning new knowledge and practising new skills. I would highly recommend your individual coaching. You are a clever, intuitive, energetic and completely professional coach and trainer."
