Ten Tips for developing a positive attitude, by Elizabeth Denniss.
- Start your day with a simple stretching routine to stimulate blood flow and endorphins, which are a free happy hit.
- Be aware of the simple things in life - hot water in the shower to start your day, a comfortable bed to sleep in, waking up refreshed. Cultivate a grateful heart through this awareness.
- Smile. When people smile back your heart cannot help but be uplifted. Complimenting others works well also!
- Make a habit of helping someone less fortunate.
- Review goal boards or picture boards regularly.
Don't just look forward, look back on your progress and congratulate yourself for your efforts, no matter how small you think they are.
- Spend time with people who inspire, encourage and uplift you.
- Spend a little time each day establishing a relationship with yourself, speak kindly and positively!
- Open yourself up to the power of the universe.
Ask for help, switch on the spiritual power source.
- Treat your failures as stepping stones, not dead ends. Learn as much as you can.
- Create space in your life for new blessings by giving away a little of what you have which you don't really need - be it time, possessions, money or encouragement.
