EI: Your emotional intelligence assessment

Can you have your Emotional Intelligence assessed?

Yes! There are an increasing number of Emotional Intelligence assessments available. The one I use the most is the Australian GENOS 360 emotional intelligence assessment.

You can have an emotional intelligence assessment conducted using this and receive a two hour coaching session to learn the significance of your results and polish your emotional intelligence.

Emotional intelligence tests vary in both style and content. This video explains the Genos ei assessment. Watch it now.

The benefits of having a GENOS Emotional Intelligence assessment.

The benefits of having a GENOS Emotional Intelligence assessment are that you:

o

Gain an overall emotional intelligence rating.

o

Find out how your emotional intelligence scores compare to other Australian executives and leaders, or other Australian workers.

o

Identify your percentile rating on each of the seven dimensions of emotional intelligence as per the GENOS emotional intelligence model:

1. Emotional self-awareness.

2. Emotional expression.

3. Emotional awareness of others.

4. Emotional reasoning.

5. Emotional self-management.

6. Emotional management of others.

7. Emotional self-control.

o

Understand the specific skills and weaknesses you have on each of the seven dimensions.

o

Discover how your behaviour is perceived at work.

o

Discover how different types of people rate your emotional intelligence, e.g. executives/managers, peers and direct reports.

o

Determine how your perceptions of your own emotional behaviour are similar to or different from those of your superiors, peers and direct reports.

o

Understand how your emotional intelligence may be impacting on your relationships with your direct reports, peers and seniors.

o

Evaluate your results under the expert guidance of a Genos EI trained consultant.

o

Gain individually tailored strategies for further developing your emotional intelligence on each of the seven dimensions (where required), so you can gain better buy in, better relationships and better engagement with staff and stakeholders.

o

Understand your blind spots and how these may impact on your ability to relate to, influence and engage with executives, staff and stakeholders.

Emotional intelligence assessment and coaching: The practical steps.

o

There are two stages involved. Firstly, the administration of the assessment. Secondly, a 2 hr session with me (Rachel) to go through, discuss and receive coaching on the results.

o

The emotional intelligence assessment is conducted before the session. A minimum of 6 weeks must be allowed between the start of the emotional intelligence assessment and the coaching session.

o

You select a series of people who will rate your emotional intelligence. You also rate yourself.

o

It is best to have a minimum of 12 people willing to assess your EI. This can be up to 16.

o

The assessment is done online so you and the people assessing you can be anywhere in the world as long as they know you well enough.

o

You and your raters rate a series of statements about your emotionally based behaviour at work and indicate how consistently you demonstrate each behaviour in the workplace.

o

The results discussion is best done face-to-face but can also be conducted over the phone or Skype, if need be.

Your Emotional intelligence assessment fees:

Two fees are involved. Firstly the cost of the Genos EI assessment and then the cost of the two hour, 1-1 emotional intelligence coaching session with me.

o

The assessment fees for the Genos emotional intelligence 360 degree feedback instrument, with up to 16 people rating you and a full report and your results benchmarked against Australian norms, (either Executive norms or general workplace norms): $400 + GST per person = $440. This covers the administration of the assessment only.

o

The fees for the 2 hour results and coaching session for individual analysis and feedback on the results, are in addition to this and are as follows:

o

On your premises in Perth, Western Australia: $550 plus 10% GST per hour = $605. A 2 hour session is $1210. (Sessions are a minimum of 2 hrs.)

o

On our premises in Kelmscott, Western Australia: $450 per hour, plus 10% GST = $495 per hour. A 2 hour session is $990.

o

Over the phone: Two hours = $900 if outside Australia; plus 10% GST if in Australia = $990 in Australia. Sessions are a minimum of 2 hrs.

o

We require full payment on booking the GENOS emotional intelligence assessment.
